In the jungle the animals sleep tonight....

I LOVE animals! I hope to become a zoologist some day. That would be so cool!

My favorite animals are horses and cats. Any kind of cats, but I really like the bengal cat, they are a more exotic breed of house cat.

I love cats but I have always had an even more special place in my heart for horses. I have adored them since I was little. They have a majestic quality about them. I especially like Friesian horses because they are so beautiful with their glossy coats and flowing hair.

So some body who is so crazy about animals has got to have pets right? Right! So here they are!

My Pets...

Abbey- My female Flat - Coated Retreiver.
This breed is mostly found in Europe and is uncommon here in the U.S.A
The more popular Golden Retreiver was developed from a "fluke" Flat - Coat
because a yellow pup was born in a litter of flat - coats which are usually brown
or black in coat color..
Well any way we got abbey from a small business dog shelter
She had been passed from family to family 3  times in the one year of her life,
because she had a problem with getting out and running away.
When we saw her we new she was ours... Ever since then Abbey has never strayed more than
a block from home. She is now six years old and more lively than ever...

Mocha- Our newest edition to the family, a crazy little teacup poodle. =) My Grandpa's dog had puppies. Although the mom was black in color and the father was silver the pup turned out chocolate brown. This is a rare color in poodles. She is the cutest little ball of fur now at 8 months old and is extremely smart.

I also have two cats

Cassie- I wanted a cat so I looked at our local classifieds website and looked for kittens.
I saw cassie on that webpage for the first time.  She was a scrap of fluff with gray fur and stripes.
Then I looked at the price and location. The family was giving her away for free and the only lived
about ten minutes away. I asked my mom if we could get her. She said I could have her if I called and figured everything out. So I called up the family and set an appoinment to get my kitty. My mom didn't think I would do, but I sure did. So I got my dad to drive us all there, so we could see the litter or kittens. I looked around at all the kittens and saw Cassie once again. The smallest, friskiest, fluffiest, kitten of the bunch. We took her home and as she grew she became fast friends with Abbey and she became a beautiful cat with long silver-gray hair and distinct darker srtipes.

Casey- His similar name to Cassie comes from looking exactly like her. Cassie had kittens
about a year and a half after we got her. She had four adorable kittens.
My mom said that we weren't keeping any at all...When the kittens were old enough to find homes of their own we went down to the local grocery store to try give them away. We found homes for Stormy, April , and Blossom. Casey's three sisters. But nobody would take Casey. We tried the next day but nobody seemed interested. So Casey just got older and his mother taught him the ways of being a cat. It became evident that Casey had already found his home. He had fun with Cassie's second litter the following year and seemed sad when they all found their homes.

I also have my 7 chickens...

Rosie
MY Chicken. She is very pretty with her rad feathers.
Cricket
Amanda's chicken, she is Rosies sister.
Blondie
A little golden yellow chicken with lots of fiest.
Goldie
Blondie's sister with the same amount of gold and fiest.
Dotti
A tiny little white chicken with a speckled black tail.
Creamie!
A little chicken even smaller that Dotti, with cream colored feathers. She is Dotti's sister.
Daisy
The ring leader of the group, with pure white feathers.

My Fishies!

I have a tank full of fish, I have gold fish, Algae eaters, Bottom feeder catfish, Tetras, and I used to have a frog named Sir Hops-alot. We have had a LOT of fish over the years, including, Glass fish, Otto fish, ect. My fish are so cool! :D

My Ratties!

Unfortunately all my pet rats have passed away. My first rat was named Snickers. At the time we couldn't have large pets in the house we were renting. So decided to get a small pet. My cousin Amy had a little pet rat named Snuggles. We had so much fun playing with her, and we were facsinated by her. We decided to try and get a rat. We found a little local pet store and looked at the rats. We carefully picked out Snickers, after looking for a while. We took her home, and we had a whole bunch of fun with her. Since then we've had 11 other pet rats. Mila, Fuzzball, Annie, Star, Holly, Bubbles, Noel, Zorro,  Mistletoe, Pumpkin, and Andrew.
Yay for rats!

My Hermit Crabs!
The newest addition to our pet family are my three hermit crabs. I got two a little while before Christmas 2010 and got my third one at the very beginning of 2011. They are really cool, they love to climb and can even do it backwards. I bought all there stuff my self. Including them!

The first one I have is Leonardo (We call him Leo.) He's the most comfortable to play with.

The next one is Cecil. He is a bit... well crabbier. He pinched me once pretty hard on my palm.

The last one is Crimson. She has bright red legs and is still a bit skittish but she's warming up. :)

(This is Leo.)
